VPS Cost Notes is an early-stage independent comparison project. This release covers nineteen published plans from four providers. We have not benchmarked these servers or established that this sample is the cheapest available.
Prices are USD snapshots. The original nine plans were checked September 15, 2026; the six Vultr plans were added September 17, 2026. Sources: DigitalOcean, Hostinger, Akamai North America and Vultr. Hostinger KVM 1's initial term was checked in its anonymous cart. Other Hostinger initial terms remain unverified. Region availability is not exhaustively checked. Providers that publish only in EUR are excluded rather than converted, because a converted price is not a published price.
A prepaid contract charges for a full term, even when you only compare part of it. Cash within a 36-month horizon can include a renewal paying for months 25–48. Allocated cost counts only the months within that horizon. Neither figure assumes cancellation refunds.
For monthly services, estimates use the current monthly price throughout the horizon. This is not a future price guarantee. Initial prepaid charge is not an estimate of when a postpaid provider will debit your card.
Taxes, currency conversion, extra IPv4, overage, paid backups, support, licenses and domain renewals are not included unless entered as monthly extras or setup fees. Verify billing frequency: the extras field assumes monthly billing. Hostinger advertises weekly backups; daily backup is a separate paid option.
GB/GiB units remain as published. Equal RAM or vCPU counts do not imply equal performance. Managed services, dedicated CPUs and included support can change value substantially. We do not rank plans by commission or claim a universal winner.
